Cooking – Yoshioka Yui ♫

The first time I heard the song, I was captivated by the simple yet enchanting melody, as well as simple Japanese lyrics that I could figure out just by listening. And then… I searched for the lyrics translation and it turned out so sweet 🙂

The lyrics is about how a girl cooking for someone she loves although she’s not good at cooking. And she feels happy because the boy said that her cooking is delicious.

Cooking for someone I love is one of my biggest wishes.

I know cooking is not my specialty, but I love to cook on weekends. However, cooking just for myself is not fun. It would be more exciting if I cook for someone else… i.e. when my cousins visited me, cooking became much more fun. And I hope I’ll be able to cook deliciously for others in the future, especially for my family or my future family (?).

Lyrics:

Let’s cooking

Let’s cooking

I think while
cooking

English Translation:

I’m going out for shopping
because

Today’s dining table is for me and you
together

we are watching TV
I secretly peeking into
recipe that I’ve been cut out

Let’s cooking

while I’m skilfully frying pancetta
I say “today is cold, isn’t it?”
and thanking him

we turned arround
accross the sofa

I really love the chattering
time with you

I mixed well two eggs
and added a spicy tsumami

Let’s cooking

I leave a fresh red tomato as it is
not to be thought that I stuck in it
I dished up the food

the truth is
this isn’t my speciality

but I’m so happy
because you praised me

every day that I love
has changed
what I like most is
when in the middle of my happiness

when you said “delicious”

and widened your eyes
you’re a really nice person
I become afraid because of that

I think while
cooking
